Aside from the wildly pointless gendered description for this tool for "Men Dad Husband", I went ahead and risked it all by purchasing this for use by someone with two X chromosomes. So far, the tool hasn't exploded, melted, or started transmitting estrogen into the atmosphere.
Okay but seriously - I was really impressed with how compact this tool is, the carrying case is more useful than I thought it would be (will stand up to being knocked around), and the axe blade side even comes with its own small cover that snaps on, to help keep users safe. Some really nicely thought-out details. Feels heavy enough to be able to make the hammer do good work, and comfortable to grip. Even for someone with no Y chromosomes whatsoever. This is getting added to a small emergency kit, and I'm thinking of getting a second one for another emergency kit for the whole house.
Great for teenage boys or any man! Perfect to keep in glove box, rv, anything really. Pretty much impossible to break! And so handy! Doesn't take up much room either!
It was a bit difficult to pull all of the "tools" out of the handle and I read that the cover off the little axe doesn't stay on well. Also, I read that the tools aren't sharp. I think that there is a reason for that. Namely, the manufacturer doesn't want you to cut yourself if you don't know how to use it. I don't expect a lot out of this little tool, but I like to have it in the car, along with my full sized tool box. You can never be too prepared can you? Good luck in the future with all that is going on in the world. Stay safe, be safe, God Bless You!
This little hatchet came in a box suitable for gift giving. Small but it’s mighty!
Used a few dozen times for everything from chopping small branches to hammering tent pegs. Each of the parts work extremely well and are all quite sturdy. Only thing I'd recommend to anyone buying this is to keep an eye on the axe cover. We lost ours the first day out.
